THE BEST TILE ROOF ON THE MARKET
The ROOFECO Lightweight Modular Roof System has received an award after being among the five finalists. It was ultimately chosen as the best product made from recycled plastic in 2017, according to the EPRO European Association of Plastics Recycling and Recovery Organisations.
REWARD
As a result, Roofeco has received the award for best product as a result of the fact that conventional roof tiles date back to 3000 BC and currently when manufactured they emit 3.8kg of CO2/m2…in conclusion, there is a NEED in the MARKET for a roof system made from 95% recycled plastic that produces less than 1.6CO2/m2 during manufacture and also offers the consumer significant SAVINGS in installation time and using less materials in the structure of the work.
Below are the main features:
1- It weighs 70% less
2-Installation: 35m2/hour approx.
3-Zero Maintenance
4-DIY- DIY- DO IT YOURSELF
5-Prevents leaks: the anchoring system incorporated into the tile allows you to connect tile to tile and place the screw in the overlap (patented)
6-Nanotechnology: prevents product aging
7-It is walkable: 5mm thick.
The award was finally presented on the opening day of the 13th International Conference on Plastics Recycling and Recovery, held from February 22 to 24, 2017, in Vienna, Austria.
Therefore, the finalist products were presented during the opening ceremony, where more than 500 people attended and voted for the best product.

For his part, Dr. Hugo-Maria Schally, Director-General for Environment (Eco-innovation and Circular Economy) at the European Commission, highlighted the type of circular economy the EU aims to achieve: “Plastics are key to our economy, but environmental issues related to their production, use, and end-of-life must be addressed. That’s why plastics are one of the five priority areas addressed in the EU Circular Economy Action Plan.”
On the other hand, Karl-H. Foerster, Executive Director of PlasticsEurope, stated that “the circular economy creates momentum that propels us toward improved competitiveness in Europe and greater resource efficiency.”
In short, Europe is committed to the circular economy and supporting innovative projects.
Finally, this year’s IdentiPlast was organized by PlasticsEurope in cooperation with “Umweltbundesamst.”
Consequently, the Austrian Environmental Agency, supported by Borealis, the EREMA Group, the Altstoff Recycling Austria (ARA), the American Chemistry Council (ACC), the Canadian Plastics Industry Association (CPIA), and the Japanese Institute of Plastics Waste Management also provided significant support.
In conclusion, just as there is a lot of energy in plastic, there are also many products to innovate with plastic.
